If it’s a rear disc brake then there’s a good chance you’ll need a spanner tool to screw the piston back into the caliper. It cost me like $12 bucks at o’reilly’s. You just put it on a 3/8″ drive ratchet with about a 6″ extention.

Remove the calipers, then remove the worn pads. Using a pair of larger sized channel locks has always worked for me to compress the piston(s). Then properly lube and grease the back side of your new pads and set them in the caliper and reinstall the caliper.
