The coolant sensor has been coming on, coolant level was fine, white smoke/steam started coming out after being driven for a little while. Sensor part replaced, radiator flushed and coolant replaced, sensor still lighting up on computer. Engine temp 90C and coolant 121C.

I recently took my explorer (2001 xlt, 4door) in for a smog test and I failed the test. My overall test results showed that I PASSed the visual inspection and PASSed the emissions test, but FAILed the functional check. My outside temperature sensor is going bad. At 80 degrees Fahrenheit the temperature registers negative 30 degrees Fahrenheit. This causes the AC compressor to go off automatically. When I hit the switch to manually turn on the AC, it stays off. Is there another way to override the problem without changing the outside temperature sensor?

The code reads “Coolant temperature below thermostat regulaing temperature”.
What exactly does this indicate?
Will I need to replace the thermostat? How much does this usually cost?
My car has 103,000 miles on it, 2004 s40, 1.9L turbo.

Hi,
The temperature guage on my 95 WRX is rising to 3/4 way hot after a good drive when I park up. (It does not always happen)
Some coolant comes out the coolant expansion bottle on the passanger side of the car
I’ve just had the head gasket replaced and fitted a new radiator..
The only 2 things left ...
